GoodTrans is an independent AI-assisted document translation service for people who need more than a one-off chat reply. It is designed around a practical workflow: submit a document, provide translation preferences and terminology notes, let the workflow run asynchronously, and receive editable files and a quality report by email.
Translation quality is not only about producing fluent sentences. Long documents also need consistent terminology, preserved structure, and a reviewable delivery package. Most AI chat tools excel at conversation but fall short when it comes to deliverable workflows: estimating costs upfront, processing files in the background, applying terminology across thousands of sentences, and packaging results for editors to review.
GoodTrans focuses on those details so authors, researchers, and teams can spend less time assembling and checking translated documents by hand.
Async workflow, not chat: Submit a task and get an email when it's done. No need to keep a browser tab open or copy-paste in conversation rounds.
Editable delivery: Receive Markdown and TXT files you can edit directly, not just a chat reply to copy out.
Quality report: A document-level quality report with terminology checks, consistency scores, and reflection notes.
Terminology control: Glossary notes and document-level checks help names and key terms stay consistent throughout.
Transparent pricing: See the Credit cost before you commit. No surprises, no hidden fees.
GoodTrans is built and operated independently. It may use third-party AI models and infrastructure providers to process translation requests, but it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any underlying model provider.
GoodTrans is built with Next.js, TypeScript, and modern AI language models. The workflow orchestrates multiple rounds of translation, reflection, and quality checks to produce deliverable-grade output. All processing is asynchronous and runs in the background, so you can close the browser after submission.
GoodTrans is created and maintained by Ming, an independent developer focused on AI-assisted translation workflows. The project grew out of frustration with existing tools that were great at conversation but clumsy at document delivery.
